MyBaystate Story: Jonathon Yee, Physician Assistant, Baystate Noble Hospital

“My name is Jonathon (Jonny) Yee and I am a Physician Assistant-Certified and have been at Baystate Noble Hospital for a little more than a year. I completed my undergraduate education at Springfield College and my master’s degree at Westfield State University and I am part of the fantastic hospitalist team.

My days are busy and exciting, and the best part of my day is when I can listen to and get to know my patients and their families. Making a connection with the patient specifically can create trust, improve outcomes and help that patient and their family members feel safe while in our care.

There isn’t one moment that I could state that has been the most memorable, as there are many. I am fortunate to love what I do, and I think all my moments with patients and staff are all equally important.

The most challenging part about being a frontline worker in a community hospital would be the limited resources; however on the other side of that is the great work that we are able to do with those resources. It’s rewarding seeing my patients go home healthy, happy, and with a plan to help them stay home and be healthy. I also really enjoy hearing the patients tell me how great the care was that they received at Baystate Noble.

I feel the community and staff has made working extremely enjoyable and rewarding. I find my work very meaningful, being from western Massachusetts and having done all my schooling and training here in the valley. It brings me great pride being able to care for the people of this area and give back to my community.”
